Report from Peter Kewish on another successful and enjoyble weekend of sailing with the OPYC:
Another Arrow Trophy completed, again in foul weather, non stop rain and up to F8 Southeries. Reduced racing as as a result of the weather but did manage 2 races on Saturday (windward/leeward) and 1 ‘Round the cans’ on Sunday.
Thanks to Jeremy Owen for hosting drinks on 'Dolce Vita' and to the fantastic crew who worked so well together to pull off 2nd overall in the 'Oceanis 37' Class for the weekend. Some fantastic tactical moves, even if they weren’t planned, superb sail handling making us easily the fastest down wind and simply the best camaraderie on board and ashore.
This was my last AT for a while as I take over management of the full event next year, I’ll miss it for sure. Good luck to James Minter who takes on this challenge from me for 2022 and beyond.
