A Gift in Your Will

 ‎

“Our vision is to attract the best students and support them to achieve their ambitions. Your support can make this vision a reality and change the lives of the next generation of Pangbournians.”

SUPPORTING THE FUTURE THROUGH A GIFT IN YOUR WILL

A will allows you to provide for loved ones and support the causes that have shaped your life.

Gifts in wills help secure the future for the next generation of Pangbournians.

Legacy gifts account for 10% of the College’s bursary support in the last decade.

Even 1% of your estate can make a difference while leaving 99% to your family.

Legacy donations are exempt from Inheritance Tax.

TAX BENEFITS OF LEGACY GIVING

Did You Know:

The College is a registered charity, 309096.

Donations to charities are exempt from Inheritance Tax (IHT).

You can support multiple charities and non-profits in your Will.

You can leave even 1% in your Will to Pangbourne College, so that those closest to you inherit 99%. You can, of course, leave more if you so wish.

The value of the charitable donation is not included in your taxable estate. If 10% or more of your estate is left to charity, the Inheritance Tax rate will be reduced. See full example below:

Legacies made to charities are currently exempt from Inheritance Tax (IHT). As an example, if you choose to leave £10,000 to a charity, this would save your estate 40% in IHT (£4,000), thereby 'costing' a donor's estate just £6,000. Under current legislation, a deceased's estate that gives at least 10% to charities reduces the amount of IHT paid from 40% to 36%. Consequently, if you leave 4% to charities, you could leave 10% and the net effect to the other beneficiaries will be identical.  Please speak to your professional adviser about how to include the College in your Will.
