Transforming Futures
Opening doors, shaping lives – Pangbourne’s commitment to transformational bursaries.
A LEGACY OF SUPPORT
Since Pangbourne College was founded in 1917, supporting pupils in need has been central to our mission.
Over the past 15 years, we’ve committed more than £2.5 million to life-changing bursaries—covering more than 100% of school fees.
Our Transforming Futures initiative renews our founding vision: to shape compassionate, resilient, and morally grounded young people ready to leave a positive mark on the world.
"Diverse communities foster growth, adaptability, and resilience. I truly believe every young person is capable of more than they imagine."
– Oliver Knight, Head of College

£250,000 Annually by 2030
This is the annual cost to support five transformational bursaries. We’re building a sustainable culture of giving to meet this target.
£5 Million Endowment by 2035
To secure bursary funding forever, we aim to build a £5M endowment, supported by regular donors and legacy gifts.
We’re proud to partner with the Royal National Children’s SpringBoard Foundation (RNCSF) to identify children from the West Berkshire area who would benefit most from a Pangbourne education.
Many of these students come from underserved communities or have experience in care. Through our weekly boarding programme, they receive the space, support, and structure to thrive—academically and personally.
"This partnership ensures a robust support system, both during their time at Pangbourne and beyond."
Each transformational bursary will be named in honour of significant figures from the College’s history.
The first will commemorate Anthony Hudson MBE, who led the College from 1988–2000 and championed co-education and the building of the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel.
