OP Over 60s Luncheon Group |
Mark Dumas (64-68) again generously hosted a luncheon at the Turf Club for OPs. The lunch coincided with the South African state visit, so London was very busy that day, with The Mall impassable and our host arriving just in time!
As usual attendees were treated to a delicious three-course lunch including a yummy Welsh Rarebit, with views over St James' and the Mall.
The Headmaster spoke positively about the state of the College at the moment, and thanked those present who had kinldy participated in recent fundraising research. Thomas Garnier described ambitions to complete the renewal of the Boat Club and longer term to build new Science facilities to meet the needs of the future. Thomas also talked about the Sir Philip Devitt Legacy Society, which is a club designed to recognise the huge contribution that those that are leaving gifts in wills to the College make.
A significant group of the party continued the afternoon in the Army and Navy Club thanks to Andrew Gordon-Lennox's kind invitation.
Another splendid event warmly received by all those that attended.
