The Pangbournian Community Advisory Board (PCAB) brought the usual spirit of enthusiasm to its March meeting, as members gathered to review applications for grants supporting community-focused activities and events in 2026. The board was pleased to discuss and consider inspirational proposals to enrich the wider Pangbourne community.
The Old Pangbournian Yacht Club was awarded £1,500 to support its entry into the Arrow Trophy, an annual sailing regatta organised by the Arrow Trophy Yacht Racing Association for independent schools. The committee warmly endorsed the initiative, noting its strong alignment with the College’s values.
The Board considered the application and noted how the event fosters teamwork, empathy, connections and resilience in a demanding and dynamic environment. It also offers a unique opportunity for Old Pangbournians of all ages - from recent leavers to octogenarians - to connect and work together.
The PCAB typically awards grants of up to £1,500 and aims, where possible, to fully fund selected projects. Decisions are made at the board’s discretion and depend on available funds, with priority given to applications that reflect the College’s ethos and strategic goals.
Those considering applying are encouraged to email community@pangbourne.com for informal guidance. Applications for 2027 will open in the Autumn.
