On Thursday 13 November 2025, the Pangbournian community enjoyed a truly memorable evening at the Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel as we welcomed Sir John Madejski OBE DL. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as students, staff, and families gathered to hear from one of the country’s most respected entrepreneurs and philanthropists.
Sir John shared an engaging and heartfelt talk centred on resilience, hard work and the pivotal experiences that shaped his remarkable career. He spoke openly about the challenges he has faced, the determination required to overcome setbacks and the importance of staying curious and adaptable in an ever-changing world. His reflections offered valuable lessons not only in leadership and ambition, but also in humility and perseverance.
The evening concluded with a lively and thoughtful Q&A session, during which students asked insightful questions about creativity, opportunity, and the mindset needed to succeed. Sir John’s warm and encouraging responses left many feeling inspired to pursue their goals with renewed confidence.
A huge thank you to Sir John Madejski for giving his time so generously and for motivating our community with his wisdom, energy and enthusiasm. It was an evening that will stay with us for a long time.
