BOOK ABOUT OLD PANGBOURNIANS PUBLISHED

A book titled Leaders: Profiles in Courage and Bravery in War and Peace 1917-2020 has been published by Unicorn Publishing Group.

Documenting singular actions by OPs during a turbulent century since the College was founded, it highlights a number of outstanding Second World War and post-1945 military and civilian heroes as well as recounting noteworthy exploits in the world of international sport.

Compiled and written by OP Robin Knight (56-61), the book consists of 254 pages, 15 chapters on built around individual themes, and numerous colour and black-and-white images. Much of the text is woven around overlooked or neglected first-person accounts written by OPs as well as contemporary interviews conducted by the author about OP involvement in conflicts in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan.

In a Foreword, Captain Peter Hore RN writes: “Fortiter ac Fideliter, or ‘bravely and faithfully,’ is a superb motto, and in the lives of Old Pangbournians recorded here, Robin Knight compellingly and inspiringly explores how this motto has been translated into action by generations of OPs.”

On sale through Amazon and the publisher, the book may also be purchased by clicking here
