Tom Wooley (60-65) sells Targe Towing

Tom Wooley (60-65) finally sold Targe Towing in January this year to Forth Ports Limited. Its tug and marine craft fleet are being integrated with Targe Towing's under Targe’s management, meaning that the combined fleet will total 21 vessels once a couple of oldies are sold.

Tom explains that "it was a hard decision to sell after establishing the company 30 years ago, but they were very persuasive! I am staying on as Managing Director until December 2021 - my 75th birthday, and after that will work part time. The CEO of Forth Ports has suggested that I be “President for Life”…………That sounds a bit too short-term to me, but it demonstrates that we have found a good home for the company and our 100+ Merchant Navy Officers.  I am pleased to also inform you that we have kept up our no Lost Time Injury record since being awarded BP Shipping’s inaugural Partner of the Year award in 2005."
