Frankie Allen (15-20) became a double world champion on her debut at the World Rowing Championships 2022 in Racice, Czech Republic at the weekend.

The former Head of Girls’ Rowing and Illawarra CCC represented Great Britain in the PR3 Women’s Pair and the PR3 Mixed Coxed Four events, winning gold in both races.

In addition, the four also recorded a world best time, breaking the previous record by over half a second.

Frankie said “It’s amazing, it’s so good that all our hard work and training has paid off. I’m really happy with how we performed.”

The two gold medals cap off a fantastic first season for Frankie who won a World Rowing Cup gold medal and gold at the European Championships in August.

It’s a short, well-earned break for Frankie before she takes up a placement at Oxford United as part of her Physiotherapy degree at Oxford Brookes University.
