The top job at Chanel is viewed as the top job in fashion.  Matthieu has become only the fourth Creative Director in the companies history and his appointment has ended months of fevered speculation.  He was previously Artistic Director at Italian fashion house Bottega where his collaborative style paid dividends.  Matthieu will take up his new role in April with his first runway show scheduled for October.
