Thomas Houstoun Boswall Preston (33-34), later known as Sir Thomas Houstoun-Boswall, died on 16 May, 1982 as the Society was informed by a relative in 2020. He was 63 and was living in Eastbourne, Sussex.

Thomas remained at the Nautical College for only a year and nothing is known of his time at the school. During the Second World War, he served in the RAFVR, became a Pilot Officer and fought in the Middle East and the U.K. He married, firstly, Margaret in 1945. In 1971 he married, secondly, Anne-Lucie. In 1961 he succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Houstoun of Calderhall. A businessman, he was chairman of Sir Thomas HB Properties Ltd and a director of several companies including Southern Television Ltd.
