Chris Jones (Catering Officer at the College in the 1980s)

Obituaries

Chris Jones, Catering Officer at the College in the 1980s, died of a brain tumour on March 24, 2020 as we were informed by Alan Vasa.

There was a restricted funeral service at Rhos-on-Sea, near Colwyn Bay, where he had retired with his wife Sandra and their two terriers.

At the College, Chris was known for his willingness to provide catering at short notice for events such as Wardroom dinners and assorted academic meetings, despite putting on three meals a day for several hundred people. A former member of the Army Catering Corps, Chris also "worked magic" (Vasa's words) with the rather bland contents of Compo rations whenever the CCF was on field days.
