The PPA Christmas Market

In October, the PPA held their ever-popular PPA Ball, with a Pirates of the Caribbean theme. The silent auction was very well received, and there are already many exciting plans and prizes for this year's Ball. The Christmas Market in November was also a huge success, with many stall holders booked to sell their wares again this year.

The role of the Pangbourne Parents Association is not only to create a welcoming and inclusive community but also raise precious funds.
This year the association donated £10,000 through grants to support projects within the college that cannot be met within budget restraints. The main project this year was to fund the new Lab Discs for the Science Department, which will be used to enhance digital learning. New football goals, basketball and netball posts have been purchased for the tennis court area behind Port Jackson and display boards supplied for the History Department.  Two long benches have also been provided so that parents can enjoy watching their children at White's or by the Astroturf in comfort.

Funds raised by the PPA also help to support projects in our local community and £2,000 was donated to Young People and Children First (YPACF), the charity which helps young people move from foster care into the community.

Of course none of this would be possible without the support of the whole college community and we thank you so much for that. Here are details of future events that the PPA would like to welcome you to:

Saturday 3rd June - Pangbourne's Classic Car Show. Come and visit our stand and buy your Pangbournian Spirit Gin and Rum.

Saturday 23rd September - PPA Dog Walk

Sunday 24th September - New Parents' drinks after the first parade

Saturday 7th October - PPA James Bond Ball

Saturday 11th November - PPA Christmas Market

The PPA are a small committee of just 12 parents, and look forward to welcoming new members as exsisting members and their children leave the college. Whether joining the committee or the volunteer list to set up and help run events, if you want more information or have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

Mrs Jayne Wells, Chair of the PPA and all the team would like to thank everyone for their genorosity, everyone who helps out in various roles make these events possible and to all those who attend them you are helping to make a real difference not only to the college but also the wider community.
