Patrick Sinker (52-55) died very peacefully at home in Kent on November 2nd, 2022 with his wife Letitia and two daughters by his side as the Society was informed by his lifelong friend Clive Short (52-56). He was 83. His funeral was held at Whitstable All Saints Church in Kent on November 23rd.
At the NCP Patrick was in Harbinger Division and Form MN. In 1955 he got into the 1st X1 cricket team and gained his 2nd X1 Colours as a batsman. Leaving the College at the end of 1955, he joined the Royal Mail Line.
Letitia Sinker continues:
“Patrick and I we’re both at boarding school and were corresponding during our late teens. He intrigued me due to the fact that he was taking Navigation and Seamanship for ‘O’ level which, of course, he needed for a career in the Merchant Navy.
After six years at sea, Patrick came ashore and qualified as a chartered accountant, settling in Kent. He used this knowledge during his time as Treasurer of the OP Golf Society which he enjoyed immensely. I know that his time at Pangbourne stayed with him especially when we met up with his friend Clive.”
